I haven't tested ES2's yet, but if it's like Endless Legend's it should be fine. If those are things you value, you can't really go wrong with Gal Civ.Īnother important consideration is multiplayer. It has the hex grid movement (In ES you move primarily along starlanes), linear technology tree and more traditional genre sensibilities. At face value, it's the game closer to Civ V. I genuinely think it's the superior game.

I love the way resources are managed how wildly varied the vactions are the quests, organic demographic and economic systems and the gorgeous presentation. Out of the two I much prefer Endless Space. Created by /u/Kryogenetics, it's a collage of some of the 4X genre's greatest games: Endless Legend, Civilization, Endless Space and Galactic Civilizations. If you have any questions about the rules or need clarification please do not hesitate to message the moderators and ask!.Please do not post subsequent episodes or parts. But they also are constantly releasing stuff for free that you would have to pay at least 10 bucks for if it was paradox.Įdit: Another plus for ES 2 is the free movement (warp) that had to be cut out from Stellaris for reasons of "balance". But Amplitude seems to be a bit lazy when it comes to ship design (skins), was very disappointed to see that Behemoths look the same to every race in the game. Generally you get more for your money with ES 2 in terms of raw content than you get with Stellaris and its DLCs. The cold war mechanics for example, in Steallris it is "closed borders, eh? Guess I have to wipe you out to get to the other side of the galaxy" in ES2 you can, if you have sufficient forces, simply 'push through' (yes, they can also close their borders, but it costs them influence and declaring war would solve it anyway, so why should they) Also in ES 2 there is no such crap as war exhaustion going up from doing nothing for mysterious reasons. Stellaris can be more restrictive than ES 2 in some ways.
